Who we are

ReelTrip lets you create and manage trips, extract places from reels and carousels, and plan itineraries and routes. This notice describes how we collect, use, and protect your information.

Data controller: ReelTrip is operated by an independent developer. Contact: reeltripapp@gmail.com.

Data we collect

We collect the following data and process it on the legal bases noted:

How we use your data

• To create and manage your account and profile (contract performance).
• To provide the app: trips, locations, extraction, enrichment, itinerary, route, and map (contract performance).
• To improve and operate the service: caching, limits, error monitoring, and ad delivery (legitimate interest).

Who we share data with (processors)

We use the following services that process data on our behalf:

• Supabase – authentication, database, and file storage (profile photos and cached place imagery). Cached place imagery is retained for up to 30 days for performance only. Supabase may process data outside your country; we rely on their data processing agreement and standard contractual clauses where applicable.
• Google Gemini (AI) – when you submit a URL or upload a video/image for extraction, that content is sent to Google's Gemini API for AI processing. It is not retained by us as permanent media after extraction completes. Subject to Google's terms and privacy policy.
• Our backend server – runs extraction, enrichment, routing, and geocoding.
• Google Places API – to enrich locations with addresses, details, and place photos. Place imagery may be provided by Google and is subject to Google's terms and attribution requirements.
• Mapbox – to show maps and optimize routes.
• RevenueCat – subscription and entitlement management for the Pro tier. RevenueCat processes subscription status and user identifiers on our behalf.
• Sentry – error monitoring. Sentry processes error reports (error message, stack trace, device type, app version) in accordance with their privacy policy.
• Google AdMob – in-app advertising for free-tier users. AdMob may collect a device advertising identifier and process it in accordance with Google's privacy policy. Where required by law (e.g. GDPR/ePrivacy), we configure AdMob to serve non-personalized ads or obtain consent before personalized advertising.

These processors act on our instructions and are required to protect your data. We do not sell your personal data.

Retention

• Account and profile: Until you delete your account or ask us to delete your data.
• Trips and locations: Until you delete them or your account.
• Extraction input (URLs/files): Processed and not retained as permanent raw media.
• Cached place imagery: Up to 30 days, then removed. Not used for any purpose other than displaying place photos in the app.
• Error logs (Sentry): Up to 90 days.
• Usage/limit logs: Up to 12 months.
• Subscription records (RevenueCat): As required by applicable law and our processor agreements.

Children

ReelTrip is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided personal data, please contact us at reeltripapp@gmail.com and we will delete it promptly.

International data transfers

Our processors (Supabase, Google, Mapbox, Sentry, RevenueCat, AdMob) may process your data outside your country of residence, including in the United States. Where required by applicable law (e.g. GDPR), such transfers are made under appropriate safeguards including standard contractual clauses or adequacy decisions. For details of the safeguards used by each processor, refer to their respective privacy policies or contact us.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

• Access – request a copy of your personal data.
• Correction – ask us to correct inaccurate data.
• Deletion – ask us to delete your data or account.
• Portability – receive your data in a portable format.
• Object or restrict – object to certain processing or ask for restriction.
• Withdraw consent – where we rely on consent, you can withdraw it at any time without affecting the lawfulness of prior processing.

EU/EEA users: You have the right to lodge a complaint with your national data protection supervisory authority. A list of EU authorities is at [edpb.europa.eu](https://www.edpb.europa.eu/about-edpb/about-edpb/members_en).

Malaysian users: You may contact the Personal Data Protection Commissioner of Malaysia (PDPC).

Indian users: Rights and remedies are available under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023 (DPDP Act).

All users: You may also have rights under your local consumer protection or data protection laws that are not affected by this notice.

Security and changes

We use industry-standard measures to protect your data (secure authentication, encryption in transit, access controls). In the event of a personal data breach that is likely to affect your rights and freedoms, we will notify you and/or the relevant supervisory authority as required by applicable law.

We may update this notice; we will post the current version here and, for material changes, notify you as required by law.
